JACQUELINE DE MONTAIGNE
MURALS
A curated selection of public and private mural works by Jacqueline de Montaigne.
Jacqueline de Montaigne’s journey into mural and street art began unexpectedly and relatively late in her career. In 2016, she was invited to take part in the WOOL Street Art Festival at Lisbon’s LX Factory—at a time when she had not yet fully returned to professional art practice.
Since then, she has completed more than 140 medium- to large-scale murals around the world. In January 2023, one of her works was ranked among the top 100 murals worldwide, securing the 35th position—an achievement that marked the first time a Portuguese woman had been recognised at this level.
Her murals are instantly identifiable through their striking monochromatic palette and her innovative use of traditional gilding techniques, rarely seen in urban art. While her practice is most prominent across Portugal, her works also span Europe and Africa, with upcoming projects scheduled in Italy, Poland, and the United States.
